ATC red maple leaf, originally uploaded by Elizabeth Smith.
To celebrate (!), I’d like to give away the ATC’s (Artists Trading Cards) I’ve been working on: Red Maple Leaf, Sand dollar, and Beach Sunflowers. Comment below or email me by midnight on Saturday, 9-11-10, and I will put the names “in the hat” and choose three winners.
Each ATC is a small original watercolor painting, 3.5 by 2.5 inches, on watercolor paper, signed on the back. The subjects are from some of my favorite past nature journal entries.
Thank you for joining me in a virtual friendship and fellowship, linked by curiosity and exploration of the common things found in our natural world!
Elizabeth
As always, you can click on the images to view them larger on my Flickr photostream.
Only a year, Elizabeth? I'm glad I found you. Hope you have many more happy years of painting and blogging! (And I would be thrilled to be entered in your contest!)
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy - yes, time flies so fast, doesn't it? Thank you for your best wishes!
ReplyDeleteI am normally a lurker on your site. I had no idea you have been blogging for only a year. What a great job you do. I enjoy seeing your view of the area you live in. I live in what seems another world being land locked here in SW Indiana. No sea shells, palms etc. Congrats on your anniversary. I would be honored to be a recepient of one of your ATCs.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! I confess to being a lurker too, there just isn't enough time to do all that I want to do. I grew up in the midwest, and to me, the woods and prairies have a magic all their own. Thank you for your kind words!
ReplyDeleteI've certainly enjoyed following your artwork. Thank you for sharing it with us. Congratulations on this milestone.
ReplyDeleteHi Claire! It's given me great pleasure to do this, and I appreciate sharing with others who love art and nature. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth I have followed your work on flickr at various sites, we took a class with Kate Johnson with watercolor pencils and I admired your artwork each time you posted! Your art is amazing, especially from the beach. We love Captiva Island and since we live in NJ anything from the beach brings me back to Captiva. Congratulations on 1 year of blogging and I am so glad I found it today! Mary Gangeri
ReplyDeleteWow - thank you Mary for your wonderful compliments! I truly appreciate them - we artists have to keep each other going!
ReplyDeleteCaptiva Island is a magical place in itself, even after Hurrican wilma took out so many trees. I wish I lived there, and not 40 miles away!
Kate's online watercolor pencil class was amazing - I had no idea we could learn so much about art media and techniques in a virtual setting, but then she is an amazing teacher. Folks who are interested should check out her website: http://www.cathyjohnson.info/online.html
I'm glad to catch up with you again!
i hadn't seen your Blog before and am glad to find it Your site has been a FAV of mine for as long as i have discovered it! ( i would love to enter you Anniversary give-back contest)
ReplyDeleteThanks and Congrats! nheid2003@yahoo.com
Well thank you so much! You are definitely entered!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your Blog for the past year, even though I rarely post comments. (My computer often freezes up when I try to post blog comments.) I want you to know that I enjoy your lovely, nature inspired artwork and plant information!! You are one of my favorites!!! I also appreciate all the helpful artistic advice and kind encouragement!! Looking forward to following your Blog for many years to come! Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHi Debo and thank you for braving the computer gremlins to post a comment! That happens to me as well, and sometimes I'm forced to abandon a comment mid-stream just because of "technical difficulties."
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your kind words and well wishes! I admire your work, too, you have a wonderful sense of line and color and a keen observant eye. I love the way we artists can share our work and support each other through the Internet; I have learned a lot and love to share what I can!
